John D. Lampe
John D. Lampe, 54, of Dubuque, died of natural causes at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 15 at Sunnycrest Manor. He was surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17 at the Church of the Resurrection, 4300 Asbury Road in Dubuque. Fr. Phillip Gibbs will officiate. Friends may greet the family during a visitation one hour prior to the funeral Mass, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
John was born on January 29, 1964 in Dubuque, the son of Maurice and Dorothy (Heinricy) Lampe. He received an excellent education from the dedicated special education teachers of the Dubuque Community School District. John especially enjoyed the Cubs, karaoke, dancing, and movies, especially “Grease” and “Star Trek.” John was a gift to his parents and brothers. They are all better people for having had John in their lives. And every day of his life he gave his family the gift of unconditional love. They have 54 years of his special love to cherish in their hearts.
John is survived by his parents and four brothers, David and Martin (Dubuque), James (Valparaiso, IN) and Robert (Ankeny, IA).
Memorials may be made to Sunnycrest Manor or Hospice of Dubuque.
The family would like to thank the remarkable staff at Sunnycrest Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care which was a great comfort.
