Joseph F. Huber

Joseph F. “Jr.” Huber, age 90, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on December 4, 2025, at home while surrounded by his loving family. To honor Joe’s life, a visitation will be held from 12:15-1:15 p.m., with a memorial service from 1:15-1:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3650 Asbury Road in Dubuque.
Joseph “Joe” Huber was born on January 25, 1935, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Joseph C. and Mildred (Messerknecht) Huber. From an early age, Joe was blessed with a strong work ethic and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends—qualities that defined his entire life.
Joe dedicated over 30 years of his career to John Deere Dubuque Works, and after retiring, he spent another 30 years working with his wife, building their business, Deb & Joe’s Cleaning Services. Even after a long, hard day, Joe always made time for his children—whether it was giving them wheelbarrow rides around the neighborhood or heading to the park to hit baseballs. Those moments of laughter and play were as important to him as any paycheck.
A man of deep faith, Joe was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness who generously gave his time to share the good news with others. Outside of his ministry, Joe found peace and happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching sports, fishing, pheasant hunting, boating on the Mississippi, gardening, and taking quiet walks to appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
Joe had a playful spirit and a heart full of joy. He loved to laugh, dance, and play cards—always adding a little extra fun and mischief to keep everyone smiling. He enjoyed classic shows like I Love Lucy and Shirley Temple films, and he never missed his morning coffee and peanut butter toast. Those who knew Joe often said he was the most patient man they had ever met. He always wore a smile, looked for the best in others, and had a gift for making people feel loved and valued. For Joe, people and relationships mattered far more than any material possessions—his wealth was measured in love, laughter, and time spent with those he cared about.
He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and loved sharing stories about them with anyone who would listen. His life was a beautiful example of hard work, faith, and love, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
While our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the 90 years the Lord blessed us with his joyful spirit and the love and lessons he has left us.
