Joseph M. McDermott, 84, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on November 30, 2021, at Stonehill Health Center.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 3rd, 2021, at Happy’s Place, 2323 Rockdale Road. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.

Joe was born on November 4, 1937, the son of Leonard “Toodles” and Margaret (Ryan) McDermott.

Joe worked as a truck driver most of his life and retired from the Teamsters. He loved volunteering at Bingo Halls and other places throughout the community.

He is survived by his children Mary Ernzen, Teresa (Tom) Theisen, Sandy (Dean) Neuhaus, Joe (Kerri) McDermott, Jackie (Tom Friederick) Seikola, Tom (Sheonna) McDermott, Bill (Colleen) McDermott and Dan (Melissa) McDermott. His grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister Shirley Apel and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jimmy McDermott; sister, Pat Anger and sons-in-law Axel Seikola and Jim Ernzen.
