Joshua J. Martin, 42, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on July 12, 2026.

Friends and family may visit from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the Iowa Army National Guard and the American Legion Post #6.

Joshua was born on June 13, 1984, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Jeffrey Martin and Julie LeClere. He graduated from Reuther Central High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. On September 10, 2001, Joshua honorably enlisted in the United States Army. He then served his country as a Specialist (SPC) during the Iraq-Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was honorably discharged on December 29, 2004. Joshua enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was hunting, fishing, or traveling. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. Above all, Joshua was a loving and devoted father to his son, Joseph.

Joshua is survived by his son, Joseph Christopher Martin of Dubuque; parents, Jeffrey Martin of Bellevue, IA, and Julie LeClere of East Dubuque, IL; stepmom, Nannette Hughes of Kenosha, WI; siblings, Jessey (Nikiesha) Martin of Farley, IA, Jay (Brianna) Martin of Dubuque, IA, Janie (Nelson) Kohl of Dubuque, IA, Amber (Michael) Ciesielski Kenosha, WI, Jeffery Jr. (Dallas) Harry of Dyersville, IA, and Alicia (Nate) Harry-Schuster of Dubuque, IA; grandparents, Donald and Sharon Martin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by step-father Jeffery “Mush” Harry Sr.; grandfather Burton LeClere Sr.; grandmother Genevieve Dorsey; aunts and uncles Russ and Eva Martin, Dora Bongle, and Joe Martin; cousins, Jamie Martin and Chris Kasten; and his  army buddies, SSG Dunigan, SPC Hill, and Sgt. Ramirez.
