Juleen Every, 89, of Dubuque, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, March 7, 2025, at home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Funeral Service for Juleen will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.
Juleen was born May 23, 1935, in Clayton County, IA, the daughter of Otto and Elmira Polkow Bushkofsky. She was a 1953 graduate of Volga High School.
After high school, Juleen moved to Cedar Rapids, where she worked for Collins Radio. It was at the Lakeside Ballroom in Guttenberg, Iowa, that she met the love of her life, Leland Every. They were united in marriage on May 26, 1958. Leland’s job with Land Air took them across the country, but their hearts remained in Iowa. In 1963, they returned home, settling in Dubuque, surrounded by the family they had dearly missed.
Juleen was a dedicated wife and mother and a life-long Christian woman who’s faith sustained her through the sorrow of this life. Her faith was a testament to her children and all who knew her. She has now claimed the promise of eternal life with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Although we will miss her physical presence, we know that we will be reunited with her in Heaven and eternity.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, David Every of Dubuque; four daughters, Sharon (Brian) Wolbers of Sugar Grove, IL, Debra (Dave) Johnson of East Dubuque, IL, Kelly Vsetecka of Marion, IA, and Valerie Every of Dubuque; nine grandchildren, Nicole Silva, Ashley Erickson, Justin Wolbers, Alissa Wolbers, Vanessa Masching, Ben Johnson, Natalie Johnson, Ryan Vsetecka, and Nick Vsetecka; nine great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Randy Vsetecka; one sister, Joyce Erickson of Wadena, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbie and Laurie, in infancy, her grandson, Mark Johnson, her parents, three brothers, Loren, Robert, and Ron Bushkofsky, and one sister, Marilyn Erickson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care and support for Juleen and our family. Your kindness and dedication brought comfort during a difficult time, and we are forever grateful.
