Julie Schrunk

Julie Schrunk (Shaff – Moore) passed away on Saturday, August 26th at the age of 66 in Dubuque, IA, due to complications of Lewy Bodies Dementia.

She was born August 14th, 1957 to Vincent and Irene (Stelken) Schrunk. Born and raised in Dubuque, she was a 1975 graduate of Wahlert High School. She worked for AAA Club and Fairfield Inn and Suites.

Julie was a very kind and innocent soul who had a mighty sweet tooth and an oversized heart for all animals. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her nieces and nephews.

Julie is survived by her aunts, Kathy Stear of Chicago, IL; Laura Mae Carton of Earlville, IA; Delores Stelken of Manchester, IA; her siblings, Charles (Debra) Schrunk of Oklahoma City, OK; Lori (John) Cowhey of Algonquin, IL;  Jill (Ron) Johnson of Waukegan, IL; her brother-in-law, Michael Pitz of Mesa, AZ; her nieces and nephews, Jillian Cowhey, Charlie (Terra) Schrunk, Maddie (Nick) Gallo, Jordan (Stacey) Cowhey, AJ (Rachel) Schrunk, Samuel Johnson and Emily Johnson; and 8 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, her sister, Victoria Pitz and many aunts and uncles, including very recently, Lois Schrunk.

Julie’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Ennoble Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center for their love, compassion and understanding in caring for Julie during the course of her very challenging illness.

Services will be held on September 30th, at St. Joseph the Worker in Dubuque, IA. Visitation will be from 9:15 – 10:15 with mass to follow immediately at 10:30.
