Karen A. Schultz

Karen A. (Lange) Schultz, 62, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison, WI.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, IL, where a prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at St. Mary’s Church in East Dubuque, with Fr. Bosco Aruldoss officiating. Burial will follow at the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Karen was born on July 18, 1963 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Harold J. “Skip” and Mary Jean (Thill) Lange. She was a graduate of East Dubuque High School, the class of 1981. On November 7, 1982 she was united in marriage to Joe Schultz at St. Mary’s Church.

Karen formerly worked at ARC in Dubuque. For the past 17 years, she has been employed in the ENT Department at Medical Associates Clinic in Dubuque.

Karen deeply loved her family- especially her kids and grandchildren- and took great joy in watching them pursue their passions.  Karen cherished her date nights and watching movies with Joe. She also enjoyed camping, creating stained glass art, and attending concerts. In her younger years, she was active in volleyball and other sports.

Surviving is her husband Joe, three children, Darin (Jamie) Schultz of Bemidji, MN, Sarah (fiancé, Cody) Schultz of Farley, IA, and Kyle (Alena) Schultz of Colona, IL; two grandchildren, Harper and Hayden, and Baby Schultz on the way; her siblings, Rich (Brenda) Lange, Pat (Gina) Lange, Ken (Kelli) Lange, Marty (Michelle) Lange, Kathy (John) Williams, Jennifer (Brian) McLane, all of East Dubuque, IL, and Joanne (Brian) Kirby of Bernard, IA; nieces, nephews and cousins; her aunts, Mary Thill and Mary Jo Lange both of East Dubuque, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold “Skip” and Mary Jean Lange, aunts and uncles, Elaine “Pal” (Bill) Potter, Dale (Joyce) Lange, Gerald Lange, Bob (Phyllis) Lange, Joe (Carol) Lange and Robert Thill.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to their families, close friends and the doctors and staff of the ENT department at Medical Associates for the kindness, support, and love shown to Karen and her family.
