Kathleen A. Hein, 83, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Hawkeye Care Center.

Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Church of the Resurrection in Dubuque.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church with Very Rev. Phillip Gibbs officiating. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Kathleen was born on January 17, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of LaVerne and Helen (Berry) Green. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Regis Catholic High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Hein on September 10, 1966. She worked for Dr. R. Scott Carins for 24 years.

She is survived by her husband Bob of Dubuque; children, Sara (Brian) Kaser of Fort Myers, Florida, and Brian (Elly) Hein of Johnston, Iowa; two grandchildren, Aspen and Ava Hein; and sisters-in-law Susan Green and Mary Ann (Pete) Welbes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Dave Green and Michael “Mick” Green.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hawkeye Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their care of Kathleen.
