Katie Jo Schoenberger
Katie Jo Schoenberger, 40, of Dubuque, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2024.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Grand View Methodist Church, 3342 John Wesley Dr, Dubuque. The funeral service will be Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Grand View Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Shinkle. Her burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Katie was born on January 17, 1984, in Dubuque, the daughter of Jim and Vickie (Avenarius) Amos. She graduated from Hempstead High School. Katie married Matt Schoenberger on August 18, 2007, in Dubuque. She was employed with Key West Early Childhood and Dubuque Community Schools. She was a member of Grand View Methodist Church.
Katie was a kind and patient soul. She lived for her two sons and her ten nieces and nephews. She was a true boy mom in every sense of the word. She loved being at her boy’s baseball, football, basketball, and hockey games. Her true joy and passion were helping others and being present for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew; her two loving sons, Tyson James and Dalton Louis; her parents, Jim and Vickie Amos Sr.; her siblings, Jenny (Marty) Conlan, Kelly (Lucas) Lindecker, and Jimmy (Cali) Amos; her grandmothers, Rachel Avenarius and Jerrilyn Davis; her mother and father-in-law, Roger and Jolene Schoenberger; her brother and sisters-in-law, Noah (Moriah Griffin) Schoenberger, Brett (Shannon) Schoenberger and Emily Schoenberger; her nieces and nephews, Gracyn, Coleson and Harrison Conlan, Clayten, Hailey and Lauren Lindecker, Harper and Bodhi Amos, Gavin and Brooks Schoenberger; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Louis Avenarius, Marvin and Rosemary Amos, and Don and Eileen Meyer.
The family would like to thank the staff of MercyOne in Mason City. Also special thanks to all of our family and friends for the unbelievable outpouring of love and support during this time.
