Linda A. Medley, age 71, of Dubuque, passed away at 7:50 a.m., on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Hawkeye Care Center.  To honor Linda’s life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street.  Following cremation, burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Linda was born on November 24, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Stella (Friederick) Tigges.

Linda graduated from Hempstead High School, Class of 1972.  She was employed as a cook at Mercy Hospital, the Dubuque Packing Company, Sunset Park Place and lastly at Oak Park Place.  She was a hard worker and truly enjoyed the people she worked with.  Many laughs were had throughout the days, and Linda’s one liners were always a hit.  Her quick wit was also appreciated when she moved into Hawkeye Care Center.  She made friends easily and was readily able to crack a joke to bring about countless laughs and smiles.  In her free time, Linda enjoyed going to hockey games, working word search puzzles, playing games on her tablet and watching old time shows like I Love Lucy and the Golden Girls.  She also looked forward to going to exercise classes with her sister, Betty.  Spending time with her family was always at the top of her priority list.  She loved getting together with her daughters and grandsons.  She especially enjoyed hearing all about their current activities and catching up on the latest gossip.  Linda was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.

her special friend of over 20 years,
Deb Wright, Dubuque, IA;

and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Jim Tigges and Mike Tigges; a nephew, Todd McGovern; and a brother-in-law, Terry McGovern.

Linda’s family would like to thank Dr. Mark Janes, Dr. Braden Powers, and the ICU, ER and Respiratory Therapy departments at MercyOne Dubuque, for the outstanding care they provided for Linda.  Also thanks to the wonderful staff at Hawkeye Care Center, especially Linda’s nurse Pam, for making every day a good day for Linda.
