Linda K. Willis

Linda Kay Willis, 74, of Dubuque, died Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Linda will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Brian Dellaert as the Celebrant. Burial will be at the Asbury Cemetery.

Linda was born March 9, 1950, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Frederick and Berneice (Backes) Mills. She was united in marriage to Jerry Willis on October 4, 1975 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Dubuque.

Linda attended St. Columbkille grade school and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School.
In her younger years, Linda was a stay-at-home mom and was very active in her kids’ schools, even serving on the PTO at Kennedy. She also worked as the secretary for Key City Window Cleaning in Dubuque for many years. She and Jerry enjoyed attending car shows together where they made many friends. Linda loved shopping, chatting on the phone, luncheons, and keeping in contact with family and friends.

Survivors include husband of almost 49 years, Jerry Willis of Dubuque; two children, Jennifer (Jake) Calonder of Durango, IA; and Jason (Myra) Willis of Dubuque; six grandchildren, Allison & Alex Calonder, Ember & Cain Willis, and Breanna & Blain; her step-mother-in-law, Ruth Willis; in-laws, Dave (Ellen) Willis, Joe (Pat) Willis, Kim Willis, and Dale Willis; two step-sisters-in-law, Bev Willis and Bobbie (Dan) Schoen; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bob Willis; mother-in-law, Shirley (Louie) Freisinger; brother-in-law, Mark Willis; sister-in-law, Cindy Willis; and step-brother-in-law, Jim Willis.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Ennoble Nursing Home, Dr. Ries, and her long time friend, Sue Lindecker for all of their loving care and support.
