Lucky L. Clark

Lucky L. Clark, 71, of Edgewood, Iowa, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at home.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the Streets Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.

Lucky Lee Clark was born on August 2, 1951 in Jackson County, Iowa, to Henry Harlan and Helen Bell (Manning) Clark.  He married Ruth Ann Eye on March 13, 1970 in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Two children were born to this union, Jeffrey, and Jason.  Ruth Ann preceded him in death on October 6, 1997.  He later married Mary Kay (Burkey) Clark in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Lucky had first worked for Connell Supply in Maquoketa as a roofer.  He then worked for Wick Builders for several years.  Lastly, he retired from B.L. Anderson Company (now Wendling Quarries) in Maquoketa after 20 years as plant manager.

Lucky was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club in Maquoketa.  He enjoyed gathering with family and friends.  His favorite pastime was tinkering at his work bench.  He loved to play pool, camp, and collect guns and knives.  Lucky spent free time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include sons, Jeff (Ronelle) Clark of Maquoketa, IA, and Jason (Elizabeth “Buffy”) Clark of Monticello, IA; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alvin Clark of Maquoketa, IA, Marvin (Jessica) Clark of DeWitt, IA, and Martin (Tammy) Clark of Manchester, IA; sisters, Marilyn (Jeff) Grekoff of Maquoketa, IA, and Ellie (Steve) DeMoss of Sabula, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth Ann, two grandchildren Justin and Jordan Clark, brothers Phillip, Ezra Jr., and Randall, and a sister Carolyn (Ted) Nims.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Lucky L. Clark memorial fund has been established.
