Marcia A. Margeson, 66, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bethany Home in Dubuque, Iowa.

Marcia Ann Margeson was born on June 22, 1960, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Daniel F. and Margaret M. (Schrader) Margeson. She was raised in the Maquoketa area and graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1979.

Marcia devoted 27 years of her working life to Pacific Coast Feather Company in Maquoketa, where she served as a seamstress until the company closed. She took pride in her work and was known for her steady dedication and dependable nature. After that chapter of her life ended, she continued to stay active by working at several other places, including Nordstrom’s in Dubuque, Rite Hite in Dubuque, and most recently at Walmart in Maquoketa.

Marcia enjoyed living in the country and found peace in the simple routines of rural life. She especially loved taking care of farm animals and spending time outdoors. One of her favorite daily habits was going on her 2-mile walks along country gravel roads, where she could enjoy the quiet beauty of the countryside.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings, Don Margeson of DeWitt, Iowa, Marilyn (Randy) Mitchum of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Marlene (Bob) Benson of LaMotte, Iowa, and Dean (Shantelle) Margeson of Andrew, Iowa. She is also remembered by her nieces and nephews, Emily, Amanda, Jacob, David, Luke, and Sheena.  Marcia also held a special place in her heart for her furry friends, Shelby, Reba, Sunny, Pepper, and Hershey, who brought companionship and comfort to her life.  She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Darrell Margeson.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating Marcia’s life will be held from 3 to 6 P.M. on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the Timber Center in Maquoketa.  A private family graveside service and burial will be held at Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.CarsonAndSon.com.
