Margaret M. Ehlers

Margaret was born on May 27, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa.
Margaret graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy. She married Paul Gaherty on November 23, 1955, but he would sadly pass away only 2 years later. Margaret then found love again and married David Ehlers on August 1, 1959, in Dubuque. The two would enjoy 64 wonderful years of marriage together before David passed away on October 17, 2023. Margaret lived in Dubuque her entire life and was employed at the Dubuque Packing Company for 10 years and at the Iron Kettle Deli for 15 years. She was very devoted to her faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Church until its closing. Margaret enjoyed sewing and spending time outdoors in nature. She liked to go fishing and enjoyed watching the deer and birds that visited her yard. She also enjoyed occasional outings to the casino. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
