She was born on October 9, 1937, in a log cabin in Grant County, Wisconsin, the third child of 12 to William and Marian (Driscoll) Wallace. Marna was raised on the family farm near Bankston, Iowa. As a young thirteen-year-old teenager she worked various housekeeping jobs around Dubuque. She graduated high school from Saint Clements in Bankston, Iowa in 1954.

She married David C. Mausser on October 18,1955 at Saint Clements Catholic Church in Bankston, Iowa. Marna worked in a variety of jobs in the Dubuque area during her adult life including Klauer Manufacturing, Lange Plastic, and Caradco and Cheseny Egg Co. Her and Dave also rented farms in their early married life near Cascade, Filmore, Temple Hill, and Troy Mills until their purchase of their farm in rural Zwingle in 1968. In 1968 Marna and Dave purchased what was to be their home for the next 53 years near Zwingle, Iowa. Here they continued to raise their 5 children. In 1985 her and Dave started their milking business which they continued for 13 years until retirement. In retirement they enjoyed traveling with friends and family, including trips to Arizona, Las Vegas, and Branson, Misourri. They truly enjoyed visiting local casinos and overnight stays with friends. After 66 years of marriage Marna lost the love of her life on October 24, 2021.

Marna was a person of strong faith, was well read and loved music, especially a good Irish tune and was an avid collector of poems. She was a Sudoku pro, a faithful friend to the hummingbirds and had an unconditional love for her family. Together, her and Dave raised five children to learn the value of hard work and the importance of strong moral values, teaching her children and grandchildren good life lessons. Marna was a member of Sylvia Switch Parish, Zwingle for many years, followed by St. Lawrence in Otter Creek.

Those left to honor her memory include her four children: Robert (Bev) Mausser, of LeClaire, Julie (Roger) Mueller, of Bellevue, Charles (Linda) Mausser, of Bettendorf, Dan Mausser, of Zwingle, and daughter-in-law Janice Mausser of Atkins.
