Mary “Susie” S. Gerischer, 53, of Otter Creek, Iowa, went to Heaven to join her husband Ryan on Tuesday July 2, 2024, at home.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with a wake service to be held at 3:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at St. Lawrence Church, Otter Creek with Fr. David Ambrosy Officiating. Additional visitation for Susie will begin at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the church. Burial foll follow at St. Lawrence Church Cemetery.

Susie was born on April 14, 1971, in Maquoketa, Iowa, daughter of Jerry and Colleen (Rooney) Dotterweich. She grew up on the farm in Otter Creek and graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1989. She married the loved of her life, Ryan Gerischer, on October 9, 1993, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Otter Creek. Susie worked at various jobs throughout the years including Hardees, Pizza Hut, Genesis, Walmart, Dollar Fresh, and Hy-Vee.

Susie loved her family very much! She enjoyed spending time with her three sons watching WWE wrestling, especially Seth Rollins. She also enjoyed watching cops shows, food reviews, and the comedian Jim Gaffigan. She has a generous spirit and would do anything to help others if she could. She loved to make people laugh!

Those left to honor her include their three sons Jacob, Quinton, and Alex, her parents Jerry and Colleen Dotterweich, all of Otter Creek, two sisters Ann Budde of Davenport, Iowa, and Kim (Jerry) Robinson of Clinton, Iowa, two brothers Paul (Linda) Dotterweich of Clinton, Iowa, and Peter (Tricia) Dotterweich of Dubuque, nieces Amanda Budde, Brooke Dotterweich, and Michaela Walker, nephews Austin Budde, Seth Dotterweich, Logen Edwards, and Dalton Edwards, two great nephews Hades and Rye Edwards, great uncle Herbie (Patsy) Quint of Cascade, Iowa, as well as several aunts, uncles, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ryan on March 29, 2023.
