Michael C. Yarolem

Michael C. “Mike” Yarolem, 66, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at UnityPoint Health, St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Michael Charles Yarolem was born on September 24, 1958 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Rex and Marlene Joy (Ringen) Yarolem.  He grew up in Jackson County.  On May 5, 1978, he married the love of his life, Connie Fuller, in Nashville, Iowa, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter.

Throughout his career, Mike was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to connect with his colleagues. He started his professional life at Stouffer’s in DeWitt, before dedicating many years of service to HOOF/Dynagear in Maquoketa. He concluded his career as a painter at HUSCO, also in Maquoketa.

Mike was an automobile enthusiast, and his passion for Chevrolet ran deep. In his earlier years, he was actively involved in stock car racing, a hobby that brought him immense joy and excitement. As time went on, he found pleasure in watching the races, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with friends and family.  His greatest joy, however, was found in the time he spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Connie Yarolem of Maquoketa, IA; children, Ken (significant other Emily) Fuller of Dubuque, IA, Vicki (Scott) Hansen of Maquoketa, IA, Bobbi Jackson of Maquoketa, IA, and Terri Yarolem of Maquoketa, IA; 12 grandchildren, Bailey, Morgan, Jayden, McKenna, Payton, Paxton, Paislyn, Faith, Grace, Emma, Ayden, and Carter; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Oakleigh, Evelyn, and Aubrey; and siblings, Jody Yarolem of Oxford Junction, IA, Tim Yarolem of Wyoming, IA, and Rexann Roach of Cedar Rapids, IA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Paul Yarolem and Steven Yarolem.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Burial will be at the Canton, Iowa Cemetery.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Michael C. “Mike” Yarolem memorial fund has been established.
