Michele Marie Lindauer, 71, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Church of the Resurrection.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Michele will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Church of the Resurrection with Msgr. James Miller as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Key West.

Michele was born July 24, 1955, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Edwin “Ed” L. and Marie M. (Coohey) Lindauer.

She graduated from Wahlert High School in 1973. She later graduated from Clarke College, with the last all female class, in 1978.

Michele worked as a computer programmer with American Family Insurance in Madison, WI, for many years prior to her retirement.

Michele spent most of her adult life in the Madison, Wisconsin, area, where she was a member of St. Dennis Parish, sang in the parish choir, participated in Toastmasters International, and sang with the American Family Choir. She had the opportunity to sing the national anthem at several Milwaukee Brewer games. She was blessed to be able to participate in a mixed choir of Protestants and Catholics touring Northern Ireland, giving concerts to promote unity. After moving to the area, she became a member of Church of the Resurrection.

Michele had a love for reading, knitting, cross-stitching, and crocheting. A talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing and quilting. She also had a strong love of cats.

Survivors include four siblings, Maurna Stover of Dubuque, Mark (Peg) Lindauer of White Bear Lake, MN, Michael (Donna) Lindauer of Dubuque, and Margee (Scott) Woywood of Dubuque; seven nephews, James (Nellie) Lindauer, Rory Stover, Bryan Stover, Matt Lindauer, Tom (Sarah) Lindauer, Will Woywood, and Sam Woywood; one niece, Kate Woywood; one great-niece, Leah Lindauer; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial has been established.
