Millie was a hard working farm wife and was so proud of continuing the family Heritage Farm since 1911. She had a deep love for all animals, including her pet dogs, cats, and canaries. Also always made sure the deer, birds, and hummingbirds were taken care of as well. Millie loved doing crossword puzzles, word searches, and watching game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, while having “lupper” and her “special drink”. Above all, she made sure her family was well fed and taken care of, she was a very selfless and giving person.
Survivors include her eight children, Dan (Karen) Launspach of Dubuque; Cindy (Bob) Schemmel of Dubuque; Sherry (Dave) Brehm of Durango, IA; Steve (Deb Roloff) Schemmel of Sherrill, IA; Jeff “Doc” (Jennifer) Schemmel of Dubuque; Shelly (Kurt) Thumser of Hazel Green, WI; Dave Launspach of Dubuque; and Mark (Becky) Schemmel of Asbury; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
