Nancy Anne Hammerand, 83, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on October 5, 2025, at Stonehill Health Center.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Sherrill Christian Community Church.

A Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church with Pastor Emily Blue officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherrill Methodist Cemetery.

Nancy was born on August 30, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Robert and Helen (Brose) Webster. She was united in marriage to Lester Hammerand on October 10, 1970. Nancy began her career at Metropolitan Insurance before dedicating her time to raising her son. She later worked at St. Pat’s Day Care and Kinderland (Frog Hollow) Day Care, where she enjoyed caring for children. In her younger years, Nancy loved dancing at the Melody Mill, and square dancing with the Tri-State Twirlers square dance club. She was a devoted member of Sherrill Christian Community Church (formerly Sherrill United Methodist Church), where she was active in the Women’s Society, acting as President for several years, and taught Sunday School. Nancy also enjoyed bike rides, long walks, and family vacations to Colorado, Niagara Falls, Branson, and Noah’s Ark.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lester Hammerand; her son, Mark (Jennifer) Hammerand; granddaughter Gwendolyn Hammerand; one niece; one nephew; four great nieces; and three great nephews.

Memorials may be given to Albrecht Acres, your favorite charity, or Sherrill Christian Community Church in Nancy’s memory.
