Nancy Lee Willey

Nancy Lee Willey, 87, of Anamosa, Iowa, and formerly from Baldwin, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home in Anamosa, Iowa.

A memorial service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 22, 2024, from the Christ’s Community Faith Church (formerly Faith United Methodist Church) in Monmouth, Iowa.  A light reception will follow in the church basement.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  There is no visitation.  The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

Nancy Lee Jayne was born on March 18, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Raymond Bruce and Frances Uella Marie (VanKirk) Jayne. She married Donn David Willey on April 20, 1958, in Anamosa, Iowa.

She held many jobs through the years including Rockwell Collins Radio, Coon’s Corner, Max Ray Jeweler, Max Ray Fashion and Nashville Telephone Company.

Through the years, Nancy had been a member of the United Methodist Church of Baldwin, Oxford Junction and Monmouth, Iowa.  She spent many hours baking Kolaches and cookies for the church bake sales.  Nancy was well known for throwing the best Halloween parties for her children and all their friends.  She was a very talented seamstress and made many wedding, bridesmaid and prom dresses. She enjoyed dancing with her husband in the early years.

Nancy is survived by her daughters Kathy Willey, of Anamosa, IA, and Daine (Tim) Crowley of Las Vegas, NV; an honorary son Fred Austin, of Anamosa, IA; brothers Ivan Jayne of Anamosa, IA, and Larry (Dorothy) Jayne of Toddville, IA; sisters Mary Heeren of Monticello, IA and Phyllis (Mike) Capron of Anamosa, IA; 2 grandchildren, Kadie (Ryan) Balichek and Dakota Clark; and 2 great-grandchildren Alaina and Addalynn Balichek.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 12, 2015, an infant daughter Jayne Lee Willey, an infant grandson Brandon Denniston, and sisters Barbara Petersen and Darlene Austin.
