Nicholas Lange
Nicholas “Nick” Lange, 38 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away suddenly on July 28, 2025.
Visitation for Nick will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd, where a rosary will be said at 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in East Dubuque. Additional gathering will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church until Mass begins at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in East Dubuque Cemetery.
Nick was born on December 5, 1986, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Daniel and Carey Lange. He graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in 2005. He enjoyed his job as a ranger at Lacoma Golf Course in East Dubuque, IL.
Nick was an avid sports fan; he was always one to recruit his siblings into a euchre game, and especially liked to work on puzzles with his dad. In 2003, Nick set the State Meet Record and the Iowa All-Time Best Record for wheelchair discus. The many people who loved Nick will remember his sense of humor, his astonishing recall of movie quotes, sports statistics and weather forecasts, and above all, his generous spirit.
Nick is survived by his parents, Daniel and Carey Lange, his grandmother Mary Jo Lange, his siblings Adrienne (Luis Gutierrez) Lange, RJ (Ashley) Lange, Peter Lange, Sam Lange, Jerry (Miranda) Lange, Greg (Lindsey) Lange, and Grace Lange (Conner Michels, fiancé), his nieces and nephews, Everly, Julian, Emersyn and Stephanie, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald Lange, Robert and Judith Oppenheimer, his uncle Eric Oppenheimer and his aunt Amy O.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be donated to Catholic Charities – Ecumenical Tower in Dubuque, IA in Nick’s name.
