Norene J. Millman

Norene June Millman, 85, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, with her family by her side.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Deacon David Roth officiating. Private family burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

She was born on June 19, 1940, the daughter of Norman and Irene (Baumgartner) Story. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1958. Norene married William (Bill) Millman on November 27, 1958, at St. Mary’s Church in Dubuque, IA. They were married 63 years; together they raised five children.

Through the years Norene enjoyed making and decorating cakes. She also loved playing Keno, her yearly fishing trips to Minnesota and playing Euchre with family and friends.

Norene was a foster grandparent at Marshall Elementary School and a bus attendant for the Dubuque Community School District. Norene and Bill owned and operated the Ten Pin Tap Tavern for many years.

She is survived by her four children, Wanda Simpson, Dora (Wayne) Huseman, Norman (Angie) Millman and Midge Fiasco; daughter-in-law Dawn Millman; six grandchildren, Brooke (Jeff) Carroll, Adam Millman, Andrew (Rachael) Millman, Alex Millman, Hunter Millman, Tanner Millman; grand daughter-in-law, Teresa Simpson; six great grandchildren, Seth Simpson, Carter Simpson, Violet Carroll, Addelyn Millman, Mara Millman and Emmie Millman; along with her sister Anita (Gerald) Pleiser.

Norene was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Irene Story; her husband, William Millman; son, Randy Millman; mother and father-in-law, Oscar and Mildred Millman; grandson, Billy Simpson and son-in-law, James Fiasco.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Dubuque for all of their care.
