Peter Timmerman
Peter Timmerman, 81, of Dubuque, IA passed away on Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Bethany Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:45 am Friday, July 10, 2026 at Holy Spirit Parish – Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial for Peter will be at 11:00 am Friday, July 10, 2026, at Holy Spirit Parish – Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Raymond Burkle as the Celebrant and Father Randy Timmerman as the Con Celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.
Peter was born November 6th, 1944 in Cuba City, WI, the son of Clarence and Rosalyn (Droeszler) Timmerman. Pete, a country boy, married the love of his life, Joyce Beck, a city girl, on June 14th 1969 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dubuque.
He graduated from Immaculate Conception Elementary School of Kieler, WI, Wahlert Catholic High School, and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville with a degree in mathematics.
Peter worked for 42 years at Dubuque Bank and Trust in the computer department.
Peter enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding his bike along the Mississippi River, Heritage Trail and Mackinac Island. He also liked listening to KDTH, reading the TH, and balancing his checkbook. He loved cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and the Wahlert Eagles, but loved most of all cheering for his grandkids at their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Timmerman, three children, Jeff (Carrie) Timmerman of Dubuque, Amy Timmerman of Normal, IL, and Sarah (Chad) Wiese of North Liberty, IA; six grandchildren, Jake, Chloe, Rayna, Abbi, Claire, and Holly; two brothers, Tom (Elaine) Timmerman of Hazel Green, WI, Joe Timmerman of Dickeyville, WI; and five in-laws, Richard Schmaltz, Karen (Eric) Jobgen of Davenport, IA, JoAnne (Tom) Daughtery of West Palm Beach, FL, Judith Walz of Scottsdale, AZ, and Karen Timmerman of Kieler, WI.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Elmer Timmerman, sister, Dorothy Schmaltz, niece, Renee Timmerman, and in-laws, Geri Timmerman, and Cletus and Bernice Beck.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Herman and the entire team at Wendt Regional Cancer Center for the compassionate care and kindness they provided throughout his cancer journey. We also sincerely thank Hospice of Dubuque and the caring staff at Bethany Home for the compassionate support they provided during his final days.
