Ralph M. Baumhover, 86, of Rural Hazel Green, WI, passed away on March 7, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center.

Per his request, no public services will be held. Private entombment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Key West, Iowa with military honors by the Iowa Army National Guard. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.

He was born on April 29, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Marin J. and Juanita (Bower) Baumhover. He married Donna R. (Barret/Fluhr) on December 30, 1967, at Grandview Methodist Church in Dubuque, Iowa.

He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1953. He owned and operated services stations in Hazel Green and Dubuque for 30 years, was then a service manager for Air-Cooled Engines, and later Roeder Outdoor Power until his retirement in May 2000.

He served in the Iowa National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve for 27 years, retiring in 1980.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Donna, of Hazel Green, son Ross (Cindy) of Moberly of Missouri; stepchildren Shane Fluhr, Shawn (Angie) Fluhr, and Michelle (Kean) Boucher, sister Ruth of Dubuque, and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Juanita, and stepdaughter Cheryl Fluhr.
