Rebecca L. “Becky” (Hefel) McCue, 46, died of natural causes Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2024, at home.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery, North Buena Vista, Iowa, at a later date.

Rebecca worked for Prudential financial services.  Before that she worked at Walmart for 20 years.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1978, daughter of Leon “Barney” and Sandra (Suchanek) Hefel.

She married Mark “JoeJoe” McCue on Sept. 20, 2003. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2016.

Becky loved her son and her family. She enjoyed shopping with her mom, celebrating all the holidays, baking, and giving gifts & spending time with her family and friends. She was especially proud of her many years of sobriety.

She is survived by her one and only son, Cal McCue at home; her mother, Sandra Suchanek Hefel of Dubuque; her bonus dad, Vern Demmer, of Dubuque; her brothers, Ret. Navy Frank (Melissa) Hefel, of Okatie, SC and Terry (Suzanne) Gibson, of Dubuque; 6 nieces & nephews; and her best friends, Brooke, Shannon & Jessie.

Besides her husband, she also was preceded in death by her father, Leon Hefel on Aug. 19, 2008; and grandparents, Frank & Collette Suchanek; and Tom & Florence Hefel.

A Rebecca Hefel McCue Memorial Fund has been established.
