Richard E. Wold
Richard Edward Wold, 82, of Sherrill, formerly of Durango, passed away on January 18, 2024.
Richard was born on August 8, 1941, the son of Richard B. and Genevieve (Mitchell) Wold.
He attended Dubuque Senior High School.
He was united in marriage to Karen Deeny on November 27, 1958, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. They shared 65 wonderful years as husband and wife.
Richard was a self-made, self-employed man. He owned and operated Vacationland Boat Sales and Reliable Auto Recyclers in the Dubuque area for many years.
In his free time, you could find him tinkering with the classic cars he collected over the years. As a pilot with his private pilot’s license, he had a love of flying, even owning his own plane. Richard also enjoyed time spent fishing.
He is survived by his wife Karen, his children Kim (Jim) Chapman, Randy Wold, and Jason (Darcy) Wold; Grandchildren Christy (Marc) Flusche, Ryan (Jenna) Wold, Hannah Wold, Nicholas Wold, Alex Wold, Evan Wold, and Morgan Wold; 5 Great Grandchildren, and a sister Deborah Pekas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters Coralynn Palmer, and Karen Krambeck, and Granddaughter Carrie Chapman.
Per Richard’s wishes, no public services will be held.
