Richard J. “Cookie” Hoell, Jr, 55, of Dubuque, IA, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena, IL. There will be no public visitation. The Miller Funeral Home of East Dubuque is serving the family.

Richard was born on October 7, 1963 in Dubuque, the son of Richard J. and Joan (Knobbe) Hoell, Sr.

Surviving are two children, Kali Hoell and Trevor Hoell both of Galena; his mother Joan Schroeder of Dubuque; and two sisters, Laura (Glenn) Anderson of Las Vegas, NV, and Deborah Smith of Burlington, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, John & Eleanor Hoell, and Harry & Viola Knobbe, and step-father, Richard Schroeder, Sr.
