Richard L. Blackburn, age 66, of Dubuque, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 23, 2023, at his home.  To honor Richard’s life, private family services were held.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street is assisting the family.

Richard was born on January 9, 1957, in Illinois, son of David and Joy (Turner) Blackburn.

He grew up in Illinois where he graduated from Princeton High School.  After school, Richard moved around doing construction work and automobile repair and rebuilding.  He loved his Harley Davidson’s and rode for years until his health issues forced him to give it up.  He married Corrine Plossel and adopted her children, Bobby and Peggy Jo.  Sadly, Richard and Corrine would end up going their separate ways.  He liked watching football and was a die hard Packers fan, who loved harassing the fans of other teams.  We are sad at losing Richard, but know that he is now at peace, free of the health issues he has faced these past years.

and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Phil Blackburn; and a sister Joanne Harmening.
