Rick M. Dechow

Rick M. Dechow, age 58, of Lancaster, WI, completed his earthly journey on July 19, 2026, at Lancaster Health Services while surrounded by his loving family.  To honor Rick’s life, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore, WI.  The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Rick’s family.

Rick was born on June 20, 1968, in Prairie Du Chein, WI, the youngest of four children to Robert and Velma (Craugh) Dechow.  He would often sarcastically say that they “finally got it right”.  He graduated in 1986 and went to serve some time in the U.S. Army where he was able to visit Dechow, Germany.  He was married to Carol Williams in 1989 and they were blessed with three sons who meant the world to him.  In 2008, Rick was married to Dawn Knopp.

Rick spent his years in the working world primarily with Rayovac, but did go on to spend some time with Meister Protein, Truvant and Cummins as well.  In his free-time, Rick was a loyal and avid Detroit Lions fan, but truth be told if his family was nearby at any point in the day, that was his happy place indeed.  We will miss Rick’s blunt but kind character in our lives and pray that he is safe in the loving hands of his Lord and Savior now after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.  Thank you, Rick for all of the memories and may peace be yours now as we wait patiently to see your smile once again.
