Robert “Bob” Joseph Burns, 88, of Dubuque, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Manor Care.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at GracePoint Church, where friends may greet the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Dana Perreard will officiate. Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service is entrusted with arrangements.

Bob was born February 25, 1930, in East Dubuque, the son of Thomas and Bess Burns. He attended Dubuque Senior High School. Bob married Jennie Udelhofen on August 13, 1949.

He was an independent auto mechanic, an employee at Bacon Veneer, and an independent log hauler.

Bob enjoyed music, cars, and boating. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jennie Udelhofen Burns; three children, Karen (Doug) Storlie of Dubuque, Dennis (Myles Slavit) Burns of Miami, FL, and Joseph (Mary) Burns of Dubuque; three grandchildren, Matt (Anne) Storlie of Eagan, MN, Greg (Jeanne) Storlie of Lakeville, MN, and Scott Storlie of Apple Valley, MN; and three great grandchildren, Jonah, Kate, and Emma Storlie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Harold Scharff; and four siblings, Tom “Alan,” Mary, Beatrice, and Betty.

Memorials may be made to the family.
