Roberta J. “Bert” Turner, 88, of Galena, IL, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Midwest Senior Care Community in Galena. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena. Friends may call from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the funeral chapel. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena.

She was born August 15, 1936, in Vinton, IA, to Robert and Nina (Curtis) Scott. Bert married John “Jack” Turner on January 21, 1962, in Dubuque, IA, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2011. She worked for many years at AY McDonald and more recently at Swiss Colony until her retirement. Bert enjoyed cards, especially euchre, bingo, occasionally a slot machine, sewing, puzzles, and cooking. She loved time with friends and family.

Bert is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Brian) Rewey; three sons, Bobby (Tammie) Turner, Joey (Nicole) Turner, Tony (Robin Gutwill) Turner; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one sister and four sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, a special niece, one brother, five brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

The family extends special thanks to the Midwest Senior Care Community, Hospice of Dubuque, and her many card-playing friends for their loving care, support, and companionship.
