Rosella E. (Ruden) Jasper, age 94, of Dubuque, was called home peacefully at 4:25 a.m., on Monday, May 6, 2019, at home, surrounded by her loving family. To honor Rosella’s life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Trinity Church, 1701 Rhomberg Avenue, with Rev. Dwayne J. Thoman officiating. To celebrate Rosella’s life, family and friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, where there will be a parish scripture service held at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Rosella was born on April 27, 1925, in Holy Cross, Iowa, daughter of Mike and Catherine (Neumann) Ruden.

Rosella was united in marriage to Donald Jasper on April 30, 1947, sadly they were only blessed with 14 years together, before he was called home ahead of her on May 6, 1961. After moving to Dubuque, Rosella went to work with the Dubuque Packing Company, Dubuque Stamping Company and Rainbo Tire/Tandem Auto Service. In her free time, Rosella enjoyed watching her Cubs, playing Bingo and cards, and sewing. Beyond a doubt Rosella was happiest when spending time with her family.

and Tammy Jasper, Dubuque, IA;

11 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren;

and a sister, who is 103 years old,
Gert Ruden, Dubuque, IA.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Jasper; a great-grandson, Tyler Cummer; a brother, Frank Ruden; and 4 sisters, Marie (Clarence) Schmal, Stella (Pete) Krug, Barbara (Leonard) Backes and Catherine (Fritz) Krug.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Rosella’s doctors, nurses and caregivers, as well as the staff of Hospice of Dubuque, for all of their kind, compassionate and professional care of Rosella and her family.

Memorials will be accepted by the family to be distributed among her favorite charities.
