Sharen L. Valentin, 74, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on March 1, 2026, at Luther Manor – Hillcrest in Dubuque.

Friends and family may gather at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Dubuque Memorial Gardens for a graveside service with Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Sharen was born on April 14, 1951, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald “Juggy” and Arloene (Smith) Miller. She attended Capri Cosmetology School. She met Luis A. Valentin in 1973, and together they had two children. They were eventually married in 1998 at Grandview Methodist Church in Dubuque.

Sharen was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a woman of faith. She loved playing bingo, crocheting, reading her Bible, and giving to those in need. As a trained cosmetologist, she also enjoyed cutting the hair of her family members over the years.

Sharen is survived by her two children, Tessa Miller of Dubuque, Iowa, and Navin (Katie Ludwig) Valentin of Dubuque, Iowa; her three grandsons, Evan, Max, and Mason; her twin sister, Karen Houy of East Dubuque, Illinois; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Valentin, in 2022; her parents, Juggy and Arloene; two sisters, Phyllis (Paul) Erschen and Janice (John) Lampers; a brother, Gerald “Buck” Miller Jr.; and a nephew, Gary Houy.
