Shou P. Yuan, 87, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by his family.

Private family services will be held at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery in Dubuque.

Shou was born January 4, 1936, in South Korea. He and his wife, Tsai, founded and operated House of China in 1984.  He was hands-on in the business with sons, Johnny and Kevin, up to his time of death.  He truly took great pride in his work and owning his own business.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include wife, Tsai C. Yuan; children, Ling (Mao) Tsui, Johnny (June) Yuan, and Kevin Yuan; grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Tyler, Alice, Grace, and Hannah.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lee Boey Yuan and one brother.
