Sr. Eleanor Lambert

Sister Eleanor (Joann) Lambert, 94, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Mount Saint Francis, Clare House in Dubuque.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Clare House Chapel, Mount St. Francis Center at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 followed by burial at the Sisters of St. Francis natural burial site. Eleanor was born January 24, 1932, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Francis and Flora  (Kieler) Lambert.

Eleanor entered the Sisters of St. Francis August 25, 1950 and made final profession of vows August 10, 1956. Sister received her LPN license from Des Moines Area Community College, Carroll, IA. She ministered in Iowa at Dyersville, New Hampton, Alton, St. Joseph, Bode, Carroll, and Dubuque. She also served in North Riverside, Illinois.

Sister is survived by her sister, Mary (Dr. John) Brehm, brother, Terrance Lambert, nieces, nephews, and her Franciscan sisters.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David (Shirley) Lambert, James Lambert, Gerald Lambert, and Daniel Lambert.

The Sisters of St. Francis express their thanks to Hospice of Dubuque and the MSFC staff for their care and concern.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque, IA.
