Stella Mae (Klein) Kutsch, 94, of Sherrill, IA, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Harmony of Dubuque, Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She married James J. Kutsch on September 3, 1954, in Dubuque, IA. He passed away on February 2, 2000, at home. He was a farmer for most of his life, milking cows and working with hogs. He also served in the United States Army prior to 1954.

In accordance with Stella’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Inurnment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque. The family invites you to remember her in your own way. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

Stella was born September 17, 1931, the daughter of William Klein and Alvina M. Harvey, in Dubuque, IA.

Stella enjoyed gardening, fishing, being with family and cooking, especially on holidays when the entire family could be together. She also farmed for most of her life, especially taking care of the many hogs that she and James raised.

Stella is survived by her three children, Carol (Poul-Michael) Raben, Darrell Kutsch and Brian (Karen) Kutsch; grandchildren, John Kutsch, Kendra and Logan Kutsch; brothers-in-law, Donald, Tom and Jerry Kutsch, along with her niece Judy Krayer.

She is preceded in death by her grandson Austin Kutsch, who passed away August 22, 2012, the son of Brian and Karen Kutsch.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Harmony of Dubuque, and Hospice of Dubuque for taking such good care of mom and seeing her through this last hard time. Also, a special thank you to Donna and Lynn for keeping mom active with music, good conversation and hot chocolate that she loved to drink at the coffee socials.
