Thomas M. Clausen
Thomas M. “T. C.” Clausen age 74 of Dubuque passed away Thursday February 15, 2024.
Friends may gather at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Mount Olivet Cemetery where Full military Honors will be accorded at 1:30 pm By the Dubuque Marine Corps League. Entombment will follow in the cemetery mausoleum. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
He was born on December 6, 1949, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Milfred and Mary L. (Jimenez) Clausen. He attended school in Mason City until enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1967. He served in Vietnam from after boot camp until 1970 and received several Commendations including a Purple Heart for being wounded in action.
He worked for several businesses in Dubuque including Eagle Window and Door, The Five Flags Center and Modernfold. He also worked in construction for several Dubuque Contractors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing along with cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.
T.C. is survived by his five children Jason Clausen, Kenneth Clausen, Jonathan Clausen, Carolyn Chambers, and Patrick Clausen; his mother Mary L. Love; siblings Marie (Randy) Shireman, Kevin (Mary E.) Love, and Kathy Love along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Milfred Clausen, his stepfather Philip Love, a Grandmother Helen Anthony, a sister Patricia “Trish” Byars and other family members who have gone before him.
The family would like to thank all the health care professionals at MercyOne and the staff of Hospice of Dubuque for all the compassion and care they gave to T.C.
