Thomas S. “Tom” Boever, age 93, of Dubuque, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024.  Private family services will be held at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street.  Entombment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Tom was born on September 7, 1931, in Granville, IA, one of 12 children of Herman and Lillian (Niichel) Boever.  The family later moved to a farm near Remsen, Iowa, where he attended St. Mary’s School.  He proudly served in the US Navy from 1951-1955 aboard the U.S.S. Iowa.  He married Mary Ann Roling on November 26, 1955.  They moved to Dubuque where he worked at John Deere for 32 years and Lacoma Golf Course for 20 years.

Those left to cherish Tom’s memory include: his wife, Mary Ann Boever, Dubuque, IA; his children, Russ Boever, Mike (Angie Harter) Boever, Keith (Jenny) Boever, Cathy “Cate” (special friend, Bill “BK” Kutsch) Richter and Steve Boever; his siblings, Jim (Phyllis) Boever, Becky (Dean) Norris and Judy (Bill) Pover; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great great-grandchild due in March 2025.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Anthony; and 8 siblings.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Palliative Care, Hospice and his special caregivers, for their compassion and exceptional care over the last 1 ½ years.

The family requests no flowers.  Memorials may be given to Resurrection Church or Hospice of Dubuque.
