William John Anthony Davis, 85, of Galena, IL, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family.

He was born on July 11, 1940, in Galena, the son of Robert and Mildred (Arand) Davis. Bill graduated from Galena High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for four years, receiving an honorable discharge. He was married to Betty Blum on November 13, 1963, and later to Norma Wills, and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2023. Bill was self-employed with Bill Davis Equipment, a business he ran for many years. He enjoyed playing pool, slot machines, and golf.

Bill is survived by one son, Eric (friend Linda Lehne of Monroe, WI) of Galena; a stepson, Steve (Gidget) Allen; one sister, Joanne (John) Fleischman of Davenport, IA; one brother, Richard (Pam) Davis of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
