Wilma V. Budden

Wilma V. Budden, 94, of Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, IA, formerly of Menominee, IL, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Stonehill.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 1, 2025, at Nativity BVM Church at Menominee with Fr. Edilberto Jarapa and Fr. Thomas Srenn concelebrating.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church. The Miller Funeral Home of East Dubuque, IL is assisting the family.

Wilma was born on December 23, 1930, in Menominee Township, of Jo Daviess County, IL, the daughter of Joseph A. and Irene M. (Hilby) Budden.

Wilma was a 1948 graduate of St. Clara Academy at Sinsinawa, WI. She was employed at the former First National Bank in Dubuque from 1953 – 1995. Wilma also served as church secretary for Nativity BVM Parish from 1966 – 2020. She was a lifetime member of Nativity BVM Parish and it’s St. Ann’s Society.

Wilma loved reading, walking, and saying the rosary. She was very dedicated to Nativity BVM Parish and would always welcome anyone new into the Nativity BVM family.

Surviving are nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Alverna (Leo) Ramaker, Evelyn (Ed) Handfelt, Eloyse (Dick) Runde, Donald (Irene) Budden and Eldon Budden, nephews, David Ramaker, Dave Girton, Mike Uthe, Andy Runde, and Joey Westhoff.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful care provided for Wilma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for Nativity BVM Church at Menominee.
