Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 9, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and will be live-streamed on the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home Facebook page. Rev. Steven Garner will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.egelhofsiegertcasper.com .

Cletus was born December 17,1933 in Dubuque, Iowa to Eldine “Ole” Meyer and Helen (McGinnis) Meyer. He married Rose Mary Shea in 1954 at Camp Gordon, Georgia, U.S. Army Post.

Cletus (affectionately known as Teets or Teetsie since childhood) was raised in Dubuque by many loving relatives and extended family members whom he treasured his entire life. Teets’ grandmother, Ruth, and his aunts and uncles Ruth (McGinnis) Goedken, Leo “Noopie” McGinnis, Cletus “Dean” McGinnis, Olive “Mick” (McGinnis) Duggan, Mary Jane “Pits” (McGinnis) Murphy all played a role in raising Teets. Nicknames were a beloved part of the family tradition.

Cletus graduated from Loras Academy in 1952. Following high school, he went to work at the Dubuque Packing Company. This is where he met the love of his life, Rose, who was working as an industrial nurse. He entered the U.S. Army in 1954 and served through 1956. When he returned from the Army, he attended Loras College on the GI Bill and received a bachelor’s degree in 1960. From 1961-1996, Cletus served as the Executive Director of the Dubuque Boys’ Club. Those 35 years of service to the Dubuque community were treasured years for him. His nurturing and guidance to thousands of young men and their families touched countless lives. He served as a father figure to many special young men, many of whom he enjoyed a lifelong relationship with. He always said that if he could make a difference in just one boy’s life, it was all worthwhile. He was truly a treasure to the Dubuque community. He was so proud when his son, Brian Meyer, took over as Executive Director at “the Club” upon his retirement.

Apart from his professional life, Cletus was known for his athleticism, especially fast pitch softball. He played nearly three decades of fast pitch softball for a variety of successful teams throughout Dubuque. He was inducted into the Dubuque Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2008.

Teets was a loving and dedicated husband and father. His kids, grandkids, and great- grandkids were his pride and joy. His love for his grandchildren was extraordinary. He supported them all and talked to anyone who would listen to him boast about them. They were all exceptional to him. Family meant everything to Teets, and he cherished his relationship with his own four children. He instilled in each of them the value for love of family and a love for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. He especially cherished the years when his grandson, Mike Meyer, played for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and loved that he was surrounded by family on football weekends. Family gatherings provided the greatest moments of joy throughout his lifetime.

Teets is survived by many dear, lifelong friends and treasured family and extended family members. Surviving are his wife, Rose, of Dubuque; his children, Susan (Brian) Schmidt of Davenport, Iowa, Dennis (Rene) Meyer of Parker, Colorado, Brian (Lisa) Meyer of Dubuque, Iowa, and David (Lori) Meyer of Dubuque, Iowa; his grandchildren, Laura Schmidt (Josh Shonkwiler), Andrea Schmidt, Kaitlin Meyer (Dan Pcsolyar), Cameron Meyer, Sean (Ashley) Meyer, Allison (Ben) Brockmann, Michael Meyer (Tessa Leytem), Eric Meyer, Anthony (A.J.) He was preceded in death by his parents, several special aunts and uncles, and many brothers and sisters- in- law.

Memorials may be given to Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dubuque.

Katherine A. Wiebersch

Katherine A. Wiebersch, age 79, of Dubuque, Iowa, completed her earthly journey on September 2, 2021, at Unity Point-Finley Hospital, in Dubuque. To honor Kathy’s life, a private Celebration of Life for close family & friends will be help at a later date in Dubuque. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Kathy’s family.

Kathy was born on February 19, 1942, in Le Mars, Iowa, a daughter to Fred and Rose Katherine (Bergin) Wiebersch. She spent many years as a grade school teacher, primarily in the Sioux City, Cherokee, and Waterloo school districts before she moved to Le Mars to be caregiver to her mother. She worked at Tyson’s for many years. She left many friends and family there to move to Dubuque to be close to her brothers and because she had a love for Eastern Iowa. Her heart was always in the classroom, and her beloved friends with special needs always brought joy to Kathy at ARC. She also enjoyed her time working for the sisters at Mt. Carmel. Her love for others was undeniable and any opportunity to spread a little light into someone’s day was what definitely drove Kathy. In her free-time, you could usually find her snuggled up with a good book, working on refinishing her latest antique project, or cheering on her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Kathy never met a stranger and surrounding herself with others, especially her grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren, was all she really needed to find any day to be an absolute success. Her love for all things holidays was also a constant throughout her life. The seasons right around the corner are surely going to be a little less joyous without her determined and festive spirit at the table. We will miss our sweet Kathy moving forward, but we have no doubt that she will be helping to keep Heaven neat and tidy, with a Dr Pepper in hand, until we all meet her again. Thank you, Kathy, for all of the love and lessons that you leave behind and may the healing of our broken hearts, which we desire, be found in the treasure trove of memories.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Katherine, Kathy or Katie include,

her daughter,
Kay Ann (Larry) Sigmund, Altoona, Iowa;

Chelsea (Dave Haltom) Sigmund, Osceola, Iowa,

Lorraine was a proud life long resident of Dubuque where she graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy and went on to Aquinas Nursing School in Freeport, Illinois, where she earned her degree.  After graduating Lorraine put her schooling into practice with Mercy Hospital helping to deliver babies for 38 years until her well earned retirement.  She was united in marriage to Francis Muenster on January 4, 1958, at Holy Ghost Church.  They made their home in Dubuque, and happily welcomed 6 wonderful children.  Sadly, Francis would pass away after only 4 years of marriage on December 25, 1962.  Lorraine’s faith helped her to cope with her loss.  She was a former member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and a current member of St. Columbkille’s Church.  Lorraine was a very creative woman who enjoyed oil painting portraits and landscapes and making beautiful needlework pieces for family and friends.  She was also a huge sports fan who followed the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Bulls.  Lorraine loved going to see her beloved Cubbies play, it was always a dream of hers to see a game at every ballpark.  Her family, however was always her main focus.  She always had a big garden at her parents house and enlisted the kids help when canning season rolled around.  Lorraine also liked to get everyone together to go fishing, or spend the day outside enjoying a picnic.  Lorraine loved being outside walking and working in the yard or shoveling snow.  She worked hard for her entire life.  We were truly blessed to have Lorraine for 93 years, but know that her work here is now complete and she is resting peacefully, reunited with all of her family members who have passed away before her.
