Kimberly A. Arensdorf
Kimberly A. “Kim” Arensdorf, 55, of Dubuque, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
A private family graveside service and burial celebrating her life will take place on Friday, April 24, 2020, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. A private family visitation will be held on Thursday at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.

Kim was an amazing, warm and loving person. Her smile lit up the room, her sarcasm filled it with laughter. Kim was a perfect example of “be happy with what you have, not what you have not”. Her strong will helped her to overcome. After the car accident, the doctor said she won’t live, the doctor said she won’t wake up, the doctor said she won’t know you and she won’t know who she is. Kim lived, she woke up and she knew who we were. She knew who she was too. But after living with a traumatic brain injury for 38 years something happened, and Kim did not overcome. Kim’s life ended without warning. What doesn’t end is her smile, her love, and her memory.
We will always remember her love for children, food, especially ice cream and being warm. She loved her nieces, nephews, and her cats Kiddle and Chico. Kim would often tell her mom, “It’s ok Mom, I’m just happy to be alive”. We would like to thank all of the amazing staff that helped Kim throughout the years. She thought of them more as friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her mother and step-father, Janis and Phil Seay of Dubuque, IA; her father and step-mother, Cletus and Cathie Arensdorf of Camanche, IA; a brother Kevin (Mary) Arensdorf of Grinnell, IA; a sister, Kelly (Hiram) Heysinger of Dubuque, IA; nieces, Allie (Steve), Sarah (Cory) and Amanda; nephews Ike, Abe, Mac and Tye; great-nephew, Archer; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents and several extended family members.
Kim, it’s not good-bye, its You’re The Best…You’re Number One!
