No words can describe how much you meant to me, every moment we shared I will cherish for eternity, you came into our life and filled it with joy. From the time you were born, it was a special day. You came out fighting the doctors and I knew then this world would never stand in your way. As you grew so did your light, and now that your gone you are my angel that helps me sleep throughout the night. You left your mark on everyone you met, with the energy of a star no one will ever forget. This is one of the hardest things I have ever faced in my life and the love that you brought was priceless. So, it will always leave me with the question, WHY??

Eunice C. Woosley
Eunice C. “Lois” Woosley, age 87 of Dubuque, Iowa, completed her earthly journey on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque, while in the loving care of her family. To celebrate Eunice’s life, private family services are being held in California. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Eunice’s family.
Eunice was born on February 25, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, a daughter to Glenn and Dorothy (Kinze) Tillinghast. She eventually started a family of her own, being blessed with 4 children from her first marriage to Richard Thomas Nuttall, Sr. She did finally meet the love of her life, Louis Woosley and they spent 37 wonderful years together before he was sadly called home in 2011. Her children were her life and they would continually and gladly run down the batteries on their ear pieces just to allow Eunice to share a few more stories which she felt needed to be told. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, and continually strived to leave behind a positive example of love which will now thankfully carry on in the generations to follow.
After graduating from high school, Eunice decided she wanted to see the rest of the world out there and gain as many experiences as she could in this life. She was a model in her younger years before she began her career in the insurance industry. She owned her own insurance company for many years in California before moving to the Seattle area. She spent some time as a court reporter, a clerk of court and even hosted her own Christian Talk Show in Bowling Green, Kentucky before eventually retiring and moving up to Dubuque to be close to her daughter. Eunice quickly found comfort among her new friends and neighbors in Dubuque and her final stop on the tour of life experiences was now complete. She decided to work at Fazoli’s to pass some of the spare hours in her day, but her real passion was truly found in the hours of socializing she would fill her time with. Her hobbies of bowling, snow skiing and softball had long been relinquished, but her drive to simply visit and share her wealth of knowledge with anyone who would listen had never diminished.
Eunice was a proud, beautiful, vibrant, strong and tender-hearted woman who only wanted to make the world a better place around her. She will be deeply missed more than words can say, but we also know that the heart breaks of losing her daughter and husband were never going to be mended while she was still here with us. Now, Eunice is able to enjoy a most glorious family reunion and no doubt embracing the opportunity to bend their ears a little until we meet again. Thank you, Eunice for sharing your bright and wonderful spirit with us for 87 years and may we find comfort in the days, weeks and months ahead in the abundance of memories you’ve left behind.
Those left behind to cherish the memory of Eunice include,
her children,
Kathy (Jerry Fassbinder) Winner, Asbury, IA,
Deborah (Randy) Richardson, Lucerne Valley, CA,
and Richard Thomas Nuttall, San Francisco, CA;
her grandchildren,
Brian (Tara) Astgen, Glendale, AZ,
Jeff Astgen, Newport Beach, CA,
and Michelle Journeay, Hesperia, CA;
her great-grandchildren,
Kinsley and Kierlyn Astgen and Tyler and Haley Kavanagh;
her sister,
Elaine Schuenemann, Texas;
her dear friends and family through love,
Jill (Jeff) Reimer, Dubuque, IA;
along with several nieces and nephews.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Woosley; her daughter, Caron Nuttall; and her brother-in-law, Otto Schuenemann.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s in Eunice’s name.
Eunice’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Hawkeye Care Center, and Hospice of Dubuque, for all of their professional, kind and sincere care of Eunice and her family.

She also enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas with her family. Patricia loved shopping and was an expert at finding the best deal. She was an amazing cook who always made everyone’s favorites during the holidays which resulted in having way too much food. Her turkey and dressing will be missed the most. Ca, as she was referred to by her grandchildren, was their biggest supporter and was known to “fix everything.” Patricia was the most kind, generous, and loving person and will be missed by many.

Schmitt; her daughter Misti (Larry Flogel), and their children, Hunter, Dylan, and Triclyn; her son Brook (Kimberly) Schmitt and their children, Chandler and Lauren; her daughter Laci (Steven) Ernst and their children, Carter, Melanie, Kylie, and Brecker, and brothers and sisters in law, Kenneth Ranson, Kathy (Gary) Sisler, Marc (Dee) Schmitt, and June (Pat) Hancock.
