Hospice of Dubuque Celebrates Hospice & Palliative Care Month in November
Care through every season of life.
Hospice of Dubuque
is celebrating Hospice and Palliative Care Month this November with the theme, “Care Through Every Season of Life,” reflecting the compassionate care and enduring commitment to walking alongside patients and loved ones through life’s most meaningful moments.
At Hospice of Dubuque, we believe that every day matters. Every conversation. Every embrace. Every shared memory. When serious illness changes the course of life, our compassionate team helps patients and their loved ones make the most of their time together. Through expert medical care, emotional and spiritual support, and a reassuring presence, we honor each person with dignity and compassion through every season of life.
For 43 years, Hospice of Dubuque has served as the community’s trusted nonprofit hospice provider, helping individuals and families find comfort, guidance, and peace during some of life’s most challenging transitions. Through hospice care, palliative care, grief support, and education, the organization is committed to caring for the whole person while supporting those who love them.
As part of the month’s activities, Hospice of Dubuque is partnering with Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory to host Holiday Help, a presentation for individuals coping with the loss of a loved one during the holiday season. Jim Jelinske will present on Monday, November 9, at 6:00 p.m. at 2659 JFK Road. The event is free and open to anyone seeking guidance, encouragement, and hope during this difficult time of year.
Hospice of Dubuque will also host a Holiday Family Workshop on Tuesday, November 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Theisen Education Center, 1670 JFK Road. Families are invited to participate in supportive grief conversations and ornament-making activities. To register or learn more, contact Mary Boots, Bereavement Coordinator, at 563-582-1220.
Hospice and palliative care focus on improving quality of life by addressing pain and symptoms while providing emotional, social, and spiritual support. Care is delivered by an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, counselors, chaplains, aides, and volunteers who work together to ensure that patients and families feel supported, informed, and cared for.
During National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, Hospice of Dubuque also recognizes the family caregivers, volunteers, donors, and community partners whose generosity and dedication make this work possible. Their support ensures that patients and families can receive expert care in every season, regardless of their circumstances.
In November, Hospice of Dubuque encourages community members to learn more about hospice and palliative care and to have important conversations with loved ones about their wishes and goals for care. Every day, Hospice of Dubuque remains committed to providing care you can trust for tri-state neighbors, friends, and families. Together, we can ensure that every individual receives compassionate care, comfort, and dignity through every season of life.
