The Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) informed the City of Dubuque that it will perform inspections on the Julien Dubuque Bridge on Tuesday, February 10, and Wednesday, February 11. The eastbound lanes of the bridge will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day to allow for the inspections.

Eastbound traffic on U.S. Highway 20 will be detoured around the closure using U.S. Highways 61/151, and state highways 11 and 35 in Wisconsin and Illinois.

The inspections will allow for measurements of joints and other devices on the bridge to support the creation of materials needed for an upcoming rehabilitation project. That work is expected to begin in late May or early June.
