Over 1.3 Million Iowans Made Their Voices Heard
Iowa voters made their voices heard on November 3. A total of 1,380,528 Iowans cast a ballot in the 2026 General Election, representing 63.37% of registered voters statewide.
Here’s a look at the unofficial results for several of the high profile races on the ballot:
- U.S. Senate: Josh Turek (D)
- U.S. House District 1: Christina Bohannan (D)
- U.S. House District 2: Lindsay James (D)
- U.S. House District 3: Sarah Trone Garriott (D)
- U.S. House District 4: Chris McGowan (R)
- Governor of Iowa: Rob Sand (D)
Election night results are unofficial because they must first be reviewed and certified by county officials. Under Iowa law, each county’s Board of Supervisors meets on the first Tuesday after Election Day to canvass the vote, verify the results, and officially declare the winners. For the 2026 General Election, the county canvass is Tuesday, November 10.
Thank you to the voters, county auditors, poll workers, and election officials across all 99 counties who helped make this election possible. Their work is essential to ensuring Iowa elections remain safe, secure, and fair.
