Alberta was born on June 29, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Iliff and Edna (Walroff) Heister. Alberta grew up on a farm near Bernard in Jackson County and received her education at Shanahan Country School. On September 21, 1952, she married Clarence R. Waller. Together, they farmed near Bernard and lovingly raised four children. Clarence passed away on July 17, 1999.

Alberta was known for her strong work ethic. As the oldest of nine siblings, she worked side by side with Clarence on the farm, tending to beef cattle, hogs, and milk cows. She also raised poultry to help support the family. A gifted cook, Alberta made everything from scratch—homemade bread, pies, and her legendary cinnamon rolls were family favorites. She enjoyed playing cards and was a proud member of the Town and Country Euchre Club. Alberta also liked visiting the Q Casino for a bit of fun.

She is survived by her children Tom Waller of Zwingle, Earl (Janet) Waller of Bernard, Allan (Tonya) Waller of Bernard, and Rose (Randy) Stoffel of Bernard, and her grandchildren Jennifer (Tom) Hunt of Cascade, Jessica (Jason) Wilgenbusch of Durango, Jeanna (Brandon) Pachtinger of Monmouth, Gregory (Samantha) Waller of Maquoketa, Austin Waller (special friend Cassie) of Bernard, Alex Waller of Bernard, and Taylor Waller (special friend Devon) of Marion. Alberta was a cherished great-grandmother to Kyle Hunt (special friend Ava), Adam Hunt, Carter Wilgenbusch, Calli Wilgenbusch, Caleb Wilgenbusch, Skylar Pachtinger, Jazmine Pachtinger, and Maddie Koppes (special friend Landon). She is also survived by her brothers Morgan Heister and Roger Heister; her sisters Shirley Gartman and Marie (special friend Joe) Klein; and sisters-in-law Audrey Waller, Joann Waller, and Martha Heister.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter-in-law Bonnie Waller; her brothers Bill Heister, Hubert (Joette) Heister, and Dick Heister; her sister Mary Nelson; and eight brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law on the Waller side.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Jackson County for their compassionate care and support for Alberta and her family.
