His faith was very important to him, and he was very active with his church, including driving for the “Bus Ministry”. Almer assisted in starting up several small Christian schools, where he also taught.

Almer enjoyed making people smile, and loved to tell jokes (sometimes corny!). He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa; two daughters, Brandy (Tim) Robinson of Dryden, Ontario and Bianca (David) Kalapp of Sheffield, IL; ten grandchildren, Melissa, Philip, Heidi, Jessie, Sarah, Lindsey, Meghan, Esther, Reid, and Samantha; two brothers, Joel (Cookie) Tidwell of Tallahassee, FL and Lamar (Donna) Tidwell of Dothan, AL and one sister, Diane Walters of Lake Seminole, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Geraldine Stanfill, and two brothers, Franklin Stanfill and Aubrey Stanfill

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
