Applications Now Open for Fall 2026 Edition of City Life
The City of Dubuque i
s now accepting applications for the next session of City Life, a free, interactive program that gives residents a behind-the-scenes look at local government. Applications are open through Tuesday, Sept. 8.
City Life offers participants the opportunity to explore the people, programs, and services that make Dubuque a great place to live, work, and play. Through presentations, behind-the-scenes tours, and conversations with City staff and fellow residents, participants gain a deeper understanding of how local government works, see taxpayer investments in action, and share their ideas and feedback.
The six-session program will be held on Wednesday evenings this fall on Sept. 16, 23, and 30, and Oct. 7, 14, and 21. Sessions begin at 6 p.m., with dinner provided each evening. Residents that may need accommodations for dietary restrictions, transportation, or childcare are encouraged to contact the Office of Community Impact and Neighborhood Support at 563-564-5644.
One participant from the spring 2026 session shared, “This program opened my eyes to all the services that the City offers to support its residents. I’m proud to live somewhere with such caring, supportive City staff.”
“Whether you’ve lived in Dubuque your whole life or recently moved here, we’re confident you’ll discover something new about your city,” said Community Engagement Coordinator Temwa Phiri, who leads the program.
